TEXAS BRIDE

Here's another invite I designed for a June wedding. This bride was great to work with and I LOVE the end result! I sent the design over to the guys at skylab to have it letter pressed and wow! They did an excellent job!

BABIES

Just a couple of baby shower invitations I did recently. Yes, the one on the left I designed for my own shower! ha! Is that weird? It was actually really fun! I don't normally get to design anything for myself and I have to say I am a really great client!

ANOTHER GIFT IDEA

This Mother's Day was a first Mother's Day for a friend of mine and her sweet husband asked if I would help him with this gift! I have similar silhouettes of my family hanging in the hall and they were long time admirers :)

I was glad to be a part of celebrating this special day!

FUN AND EASY GIFT IDEA

I found this awesome pot at Salvation Army for you know... nothing, threw some succulents in there, topped it off with some pebbles and there you have it! Happy Birthday Katie!

HIMALAYAN ADVENTURE LEAGUE

My husband is up to something new... again! He wrote a few songs inspired by The Jungle Book (the book not the movie). He convinced a handful of really talented musicians in KC to join him on this Literary Folk Rock journey. I got to come alongside, once again, as the "in house" graphic designer. First he wanted to come up with a logo for the band. Sort of inspired by Gayngs but a little more innocent. More like boy scouts. I love Aaron's creativity. I love how when he dreams, he dreams big and thinks of every detail! This is the logo we ended up with and some poster artwork I came up with for their first show. It's this Saturday at the Brick! Come on out! You can listen here.

I DID IT!

I finally opened a storenvy store! It went live last week and I have loved watching emails pop up saying.. "You've made a sale!" It brings me so much joy to know that I can create things people love! I opened the store in hopes to make a little extra money to pay for our adoption, so the products offered are African and adoption inspired. I am blessed to have an amazing support system and a lot of the sales have been from friends and family. I hope that this can eventually go further than that. I guess we'll just have to see where it takes me.

Go take a look! (starting small. only 2 products :)

ARTWORK FOR AARON'S NEW EP!

We had a lot of fun putting this Album art together. It's great working with Aaron because he knows what he wants and he has great ideas! The EP is called Ghostly and he wanted a very straight forward picture of himself in a white shirt and all white background. I was so inspired by that idea! So subtle and sophisticated. The challenge was to figure out a way to photograph him and make it look professional with my 6-year-old digital camera. Ha! I knew natural light was the key and with some experimenting we figured out he needed to have good light shining on his face and diffused light coming through behind him. So... I had an idea!! We have some great natural light that comes through our bathroom window in the afternoon AND we have a white shower curtain... perfect for diffusing light behind him and giving him a glowy white background. You would never guess that this photo was taken with me standing in the bathtub while Aaron awkwardly squats so that the top of the shower curtain doesn't show. ha!! After working with a lot of different directions we both thought this offset look was the way to go. Hope you like it and hope you get a copy of the EP. Out October 12th!

GOOD FIND!

With some inspiration from Laura, I headed out to a couple thrift stores to find something I could use to organize my jewelry. I found this little gem on my first stop for ONE DOLLAR! I'm not totally sure what it is... maybe something to do with wine storage. All I had to do was clean it up a little and take off the top piece... and voila! Look here to see what else I found...

LITTLE ART

Most of you know, we started the adoption process about a month ago and Aaron and I have been brainstorming different ways to make a little extra money to help pay for the adoption. We're requesting a boy and we want to name him Arthur, but we've already been calling him "Little Art". These are some ideas I've been playing around with for letterpress prints. What do you think?
